About

My name is Jay and I'm the creator and founder of Pockets Productions. I came up with the name Pockets Productions after building a full size 8-man poker table for the small group of friends I played poker with. I gained the nickname Pockets around the crew as every game was held promptly after I would return home from work where I would be wearing a dress shirt with a chest pocket and also for my notorious gambling on any pocket pair in my hand. The name stuck and I started using it for my media productions, hence Pockets Productions.

Growing up I was always fascinated with technology and heavily involved in the media arts and the combination of the two. Previous to high school, the clique I would hang around were extreme athletes who enjoyed BMXing and skateboarding. Holding no personal interest in participating in the sport, I was the engineer: blueprinting and crafting ramps. Eventually I wanted to experiment with video recording, and this atmosphere presented the perfect opportunity. My ambition with woodworking and video production carried into high school. Throughout high school I spent most of my time with computers; building my own computers from scratch, creatively designing websites and graphics, and discovering music production. While I became consumed with this technological era, my childhood passion for woodworking was still present. After graduating high school I began to expand my horizon even further by getting involved with music production.

I consider myself a Jack of All Trades, Master of None. All the skills I have obtained are self-taught and defined by my personal creativity and ideals. I have experience in woodworking (custom built poker table and music studio recording booth), web design, graphic design, flash production, video production, audio production, and some electronic work (with cars specifically). While as of 2010 my portfolio is elementary as any project I have done was for personal use, I have decided to offer my abilities to the public.
